The Roseland Academy Students Celebrate Stellar Exam Results

The Roseland Academy was filled with smiling faces and celebrations today, as students collected their GCSE results after a summer-long wait.

Headteacher Chris Challis praised his students’ “incredible” accomplishments, noting, “This year’s results have surpassed our already extremely high expectations. On behalf of everyone at The Roseland Academy, I’d like to congratulate the students for all their hard work and the results they have achieved. It’s particularly pleasing to see such high progress rates in every subject which provide an excellent showcase of why we are regarded as an ‘outstanding’ education provider by Ofsted.”

“The students have achieved a set of results that they themselves, their parents and their teachers should be proud of” he added.

Notably, Ashley celebrated outstanding individual results, achieving 9 grade 9’s and an A* in Additional Maths. He said, ‘ I am delighted with these results as I worked exceptionally hard and I I want to thank my teachers for their support..

Ben was similarly delighted with his grade 9 in Maths, securing a place at Exeter Maths School. He said of his results, “I am so happy to be able to attend Exeter Maths School”.   Maddie, who achieved 6 grade 9’s, intends to go on to Truro College to study A-levels she said, ‘I am so pleased with my results and am looking forward to studying Sciences at A level.’

“Today’s results are a reflection of years of hard work put in by students and staff alike. It’s fantastic to see so many smiling faces today, as this is an exceptional group of young people” said Deputy Head, Mr Clarke. “They are a credit to The Roseland Academy and I’m sure many will have surprised themselves with what they have achieved today, but each and every student has earned their success.”

The majority of The Roseland students will now go on to further education at institutions across Cornwall, as they look to build on today’s achievements.

“We anticipate these students will take further education in their stride, as long as they continue to work hard and keep the same enthusiasm we saw during their time with us. It is always a delight to hear about the amazing things our former students progress to, be it university study or heading into a career – we’re sure this group will be no different!”

Mr Challis added, “Every year, I am blown away by the dedication and standard of care provided by the teaching staff and community at large associated with The Roseland Academy, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to reaching this point today. The Academy has proven once again its proficiency at equipping students with the skills they need to make the most of their post results day opportunities. Moving forward, we wish each and every one of them luck!”
