Y7, 8, 9 & 10 Football Fixtures update Roseland vs Brannel

Wednesday 25th January saw the Y7, 8, 9 & 10 football team attend their first fixture of the football season. On a cold and windy afternoon, there was a good level of football being played. The Y7’s managed to hold their lead whilst under pressure until the final whistle, resulting in a 3-2 win with Kian scoring a brace and Toby scoring directly from a corner. The Y8 team had a tough start and conceded several goals in the first half, they continued to battle well and began to reduce the deficit by scoring three quick goals. Joshua, Isaac & Betty grabbing the goals, however whilst pushing for a 4th goal Brannel counter attacked and managed to score three more times, the final score was 8-3 to Brannel. The Y9’s had a very tough game with the low lying sun being an issue in the first half. The squad played some good football and had several opportunities to score, however Brannel were more clinical in front of goal, resulting in Brannel winning 5-0. The Y10 team demonstrated the experience they have and played some fantastic football, creating chance after chance in both halves, however the Brannel goalkeeper was on form and made some cat-like saves. Roseland went 2-0 up with goals coming from Benito & Conway and continued to press, but with Brannel counter attacking they managed to score twice in quick succession. The final score was 2-2.

Thanks to Mr Ashwin, Mr Avery, Mr Davidson & Mr Ayre for supporting the students.
