Farm Visit from Tregony Pre-School

Capture1This week Tregony Preschool were treated to a tour around The Roseland Community Farm.

Mrs Southworth showed the group around the different enclosures and explained how the many different animals on our farm are cared for.

Our on-site farm is an important part of The Roseland Academy and is a unique resource of which we are very proud. Students have the opportunity to look after and learn about a wide range of animals, including goats, Shetland ponies, chickens, rabbits and mice.

Teaching happens both on the farm and in our purpose built classroom.

We grow our own food and flowers using the greenhouse, polytunnel and vegetable patch. We have also previously been chosen to exhibit at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where we won a Silver medal.

The facility is open to students of all years at break and lunch time and is used to deliver our BTEC in Animal Care course.
