The Roseland Academy works very closely with our Partner Primary Schools to ensure that Year 6 students feel ready and excited for their transition to secondary school.
Primary students visit The Roseland Academy on a regular basis to take part in various activities in many subject areas, such as Practical Science, English and Music workshops. Primary Sports Network Festivals and other school events also involve the younger students.
Students from The Roseland Academy visit Partner Primary Schools to talk about their own experiences and answer any questions students may have.
The Leadership Team also visits all schools in The Roseland area in the Autumn Term, with the Transition Coordinator and Learning Leader for the lower school.
An Open Evening is held in September when students and parents can experience the different opportunities on offer.
In the Summer Term Year 6 students are welcomed in to the Academy for an Induction Day. In the evening, they and their parents can meet with their tutors. New Year 7 students will also be given a ‘Learning Passport’ to encourage continuity in learning between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.
